Podcast Production: How to Record with Other People
If you have more than one person on your podcast, things can get complicated. Here we look at the three methods for recording other people.
What are my options?
In-Person:
Generally leads to the best quality recording
Provides an organic feel to conversations and interviews
All speakers sound similar in timbre and quality
Remote Recording:
Convenient
Allows for easy interviews of people who don’t live near you
Makes keeping audio quality consistent difficult
Requires more technical work from those not being recorded in-studio
Tape Sync (Remote recording with a traveling engineer):
Great quality audio with the convenience of remote recording
Added expense
Requires scheduling an engineer for each location of the interview
